The share of students satisfied with the study conditions increased from 60 to 64% over the year. Alexey Demidov, Rector of Ƶ, comments

There are more than a thousand higher education institutions in Russia today. Russian universities offer a wide range of study areas. Students here receive not only professional knowledge, but also participate in scientific, creative and sports projects. An online survey of university students conducted on the platform "Unequal Person" has shown that the majority of students who participated in the study feel emotionally comfortable in higher education - 64% gave this parameter more than eight points out of ten. The average score of the respondents was 8 points out of 10 possible. At the same time, during the observation period the share of students' positive assessments of their emotional attitude to higher education institutions increased by 4 p.p. from 60% in 2023 to 64% in 2024. The share of negative assessments remains relatively low - 6% of students feel uncomfortable with higher education institutions. More than half also reported feeling proud of their university - 58%, a figure that has remained unchanged since last year.

I believe that the VTsIOM survey is very timely. A lot of work has been done both at the federal and regional levels to equip the infrastructure of universities, to transform educational programs to meet the needs of the economy, to build industrial enterprises into the partner network, so that internships and traineeships become a real foundation for employment and skills development in the conditions of functioning production. The main thesis of the research is that 8 out of 10 respondents are satisfied with the organization of the learning process in their university. As a rector I can safely say that the satisfaction of today's student is influenced by the modern equipment of laboratories and classrooms, and the availability of spaces for team building, community and promotion of author's projects, and the possibility of disciplinary approach, when regardless of the chosen specialty, the student finds in the university a platform for the study of related disciplines.

The University of Industrial Technologies and Design, being among the winners of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science's Priority 2030 program, has launched a number of specialized laboratories and spaces. For example, we have uninterrupted work in the laboratory of digital design, where today we have equipment for human scanning, object scanning, editing and creating virtual environments, printing prototypes of products, software that allows us to recreate in digital form the movement of fabric when walking, for example. This is the laboratory of synthesis and research of modifying agents for the production of functional textiles and fiber materials, and the laboratory of research of antimicrobial properties of materials, and the laboratory of digital textile design, where the most important research aimed at import substitution of chemical components is carried out, smart fabrics are developed here, and these are self-cleaning materials, and materials that change color when the temperature changes, and non-burning fabrics, and so on. There are also laboratories for creating biodegradable packaging based on unique substances found in larch, for creating paper-like composites for absolutely any industries, including aerospace, radio-electronics, metallurgy. It is also a production sewing co-working space where real costumes are created, including stage and theater costumes. It is the University Boiling Point, which has become a kind of center of attraction for our city; not only university events are held here, but also regional events. And the Museum of Contemporary Design, where we have the opportunity to digitize objects of industrial design and archive them for further research. This is also the launch of educational programs, such as a master's degree in Fashion Tech, and a program on industrial design and engineering, opened in partnership with the St. Petersburg studio of industrial design so that the projects of students were of a practical nature, not just conceptual. And this is a small part of the changes and transformations that concern the university of which I am the rector. The VCIOM survey confirms my thesis about the positive trend throughout Russia.
