15 July

Anton Sorokin, a student of the Graduate School of Technology and Energy of Ƶ, has developed new recommendations to improve the procurement activities of Ekoten LLC, which has been operating in the market of medical devices and equipment manufacturing for more than 12 years. Anton studies at the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, specialty "Management", profile "Logistics and Supply Chain Management". Anton presented his conclusions at the defense of his graduate qualification work.

Today in this field there is great competition among manufacturers, and procurement activities have a significant impact on the competitive advantage of the company, because more than 70% of the costs in the cost of production falls on the purchase of raw materials and components necessary for the production process. The geopolitical situation that currently exists in supply chains also has a significant impact on the companies' activities. In addition, the results of work largely depend on the efficiency of interaction of organizations with reliable suppliers.

Anton conducted a comprehensive study, based on which weaknesses in the company's procurement organization were identified and specific recommendations were developed that would have a significant economic effect. In particular, Anton suggested that the company should keep records of operational procurement activities for optimization, use effective modern tools - electronic bidding to identify optimal sources of supply that provide a significant reduction in the initial purchase price due to competition among suppliers, keep records and assess the performance of existing key suppliers for a reasonable decision on the prolongation of contractual relations with them.

The results of Anton Sorokin's research were confirmed by the readiness of the company Ekoten LLC, whose procurement activities were analyzed, to implement the solutions proposed by the student in the work of the procurement department.

Currently Anton works as a logistician in the oil and gas company "Gazpromneft-Snabzheniye". The company is a leader in integrated services in the industrial procurement and logistics market. Anton is a very energetic, business-minded and purposeful young man with an active life position. He understands the common problems with logistics, sees the prospects of this profession, so he is interested in reaching out to global logistics companies. Anton travels a lot, studies languages, does sports, takes long bike rides.

According to him, while working on his diploma, he was inspired by the interaction with his supervisor as a colleague, the general interest in the process, and motivated by the desire to make a real contribution to the company's workflow and "make the world a better place".
