The exciting VK FEST has come to an end in St. Petersburg. The best practices in launching projects in the field of high-tech fashion and media art were presented by Ƶ experts in the VK FEST x LUMION zone, where visitors were fascinated by multimedia exhibits and participated in master classes in computer graphics. Today, both companies are partners of the University of Industrial Technology and Design. In June this year, the Brusnitsyn Cultural Quarter was a resounding success with a show of works by participants of the joint project of Ƶ, VK Education and LUMION "Graffiti 3024: Art of the Future in Cities". Alexandra Malakhova, creative producer and marketing director of the project office of Ƶ, presented the university at VK FEST.
She told about the cases of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design in the field of application of AR and VR technologies, neural networks, virtual clothing, multimedia art, about the launch of forums and creatons dedicated to Fashion Tech.
The guests were presented with the SmartDesign Laboratory opened by the university in the center of the Northern Capital within the framework of the federal program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia "Priority 2030". The laboratory is already a center of attraction for both students of Ƶ and guests of the city. Here students and residents of the space create virtual collections of clothes, digitize fashion novelties, work with museum exhibits and digital avatars, which are created with the help of a special 3D human scanner. In addition, 3D models of all sorts of large and small objects with high detail are obtained in the Laboratory with the help of a handheld 3D scanner.

Thanks to augmented and virtual reality glasses in the SmartDesign Lab, it is possible to load a previously created 3D object into the virtual space and evaluate its interaction with the environment. Alexandra also presented the university's cases on creating virtual events with the help of special software, where it is possible to hold fashion shows and fashion weeks without leaving home.

A separate part of the presentation was the best practices of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design on printing both full-scale models of clothes and aggregates of parts, from which the finished product is further assembled. In addition to additive technologies, the SmartDesign Lab uses programs for virtual construction and creation of motion simulations of 23 types of fabric, as well as a 3D graphics editor.
One of the university's developments was presented at VK FEST - a print on a T-shirt that can be set in motion with the help of an application (when a camera is pointed at it, a three-dimensional drawing appears on the screen, showing Nicholas I from the future in a futuristic suit in the city of tomorrow). The project was developed for Sber and was timed to coincide with the day when the decree on the establishment of savings banks in Russia was signed.
Another successful case of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design was an exhibition of exhibits for virtual fitting of clothes and accessories of the USSR era. They were reconstructed by young digital designers, including students of Ƶ.
It was also noted that students of the first in Russia master's degree program in Fashion Tech, opened by the university also within the framework of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science program "Priority 2030", defend their diploma projects in a meta-universe, not in real space. For the defense of their works, the students under the guidance of supervisors of the master's program created a unique location in the meta-universe, where their works for 2 years of study in the master's program were exhibited.
