On June 26, 2024, the University of Industrial Technology and Design hosted a district seminar on the exchange of experience and dissemination of best practices for the prevention of negative manifestations among young people. The seminar was held with the support of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District.
Representatives of executive authorities and youth policy institutions of the subjects of the Russian Federation of the Northwestern Federal District, experts from non-profit organizations of the Northwestern Federal District and public organizations of the Russian Federation participated in its work.
At the beginning of the seminar, Daniil Kirimov, head of the Department of Methodological and Analytical support for youth Policy of the Department of Youth Projects and Programs of Rosmolodezh, and Maxim Lupin, Director General of the ANO Center for the Study and Network Monitoring of the Youth Environment, spoke about the organization of work with youth on the prevention of destructive manifestations.
Among the speakers of the seminar were also:
— Vladimir Vaitulevich, Head of the Political Department of the Center for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Police Colonel;
— Artyom Barynkin, Associate Professor of the Department of European Studies at the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University (Candidate of Historical Sciences), with the topic: "Radical nationalism in Ukraine in the context of challenges and threats to Russian statehood";
— Igor Garin, Director of the Center for Monitoring and Prevention of Deviant Behavior of SbGMTU, with the topic "Preservation and strengthening of the system of traditional values in the context of countering the spread of destructive ideologies."
During the seminar, the regions exchanged experiences and presented their projects on various formats of work aimed at preventing radicalization of young people.
Alexander Chunin, Deputy Director of the NCPTI, and Lyudmila Tikhonova, Deputy Head of the Coordination Center of the Ƶ, spoke about the directions of their work and interdepartmental cooperation on countering the ideology of extremism and terrorism.
Vice-rectors for youth policy and educational activities of universities from the Republics of Karelia and Komi, Murmansk region shared their experience of working with students on the topic of the seminar.
