Grand Prix of the "Pushkin Ball" contest was won by a student of Ƶ

A large-scale project - the International contest of designers and artists for the best costume of the heroes of Alexander Pushkin's works "Pushkin Ball", organized with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture - has come to an end in the Northern Capital.



More than a thousand young designers, artists, students, talented schoolchildren - winners of creative contests and Olympiads, pupils of creative teams, children of the participants of NWO, children from large families took part in the competitive, musical and educational programs of the project, and the youth "St. Petersburg Pushkin Ball" became the center of attraction for creative and creative young people from different parts of the world.


The St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design held a solemn summarizing of the results of the contest. The final gala-show of the best collections of young designers took place, as well as the awarding of the winners.

Representatives of 23 countries (including CIS and BRICS) from 65 regions of Russia took part in the contest, more than 900 applications were submitted and about 400 of them reached the finals. At the gala show 122 best costumes and accessories by talented designers and artists were presented to the audience.



The winner of the Grand Prix in the amount of 600,000 rubles was Valentina Klushina, a student of Ƶ, with her collection "Shamakhanskaya Tsarina". In the nomination "Theatrical Costume" the second place was awarded to Ekaterina Matlina, a student of Ƶ. In the nomination "Fairytale Image" two prizes were given to the students of Ƶ: second place - Mokhinur Komolova, third place - Ekaterina Matlina. Mokhinur Komolova also took the third place in the nomination "Accessories of the Pushkin era".



All winners in five nominations of the contest received diplomas, statuettes, special prizes and memorable gifts from sponsors and partners of the contest: prestigious trendbooks, internships at Design Institutes in China, Belarus, Marrakech, Italy, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other countries, invitations to participate in International Fashion Weeks, invitations to exhibit creative works in leading museums of Russia, certificates for brand promotion in Russian showrooms, online platforms and department stores, sewing equipment, publications in mass media and much more.



Love for Alexander Pushkin's work united young designers aged 14 to 45 from Russia, Austria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, China, Croatia, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.


The guests of honor, members of the international expert council of the contest for talented young people "St. Petersburg Pushkin Ball" are famous fashion designers, cultural figures and artists, directors of fashion institutes and universities, Presidents of Fashion Weeks, authoritative trend bureaus from Russia and abroad: Italy, Morocco, China, Norway, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan and Pakistan.



At the final show the famous fairytale characters of Pushkin's works came to life in the creative reading of young designers from all over the world.

The audience was presented collections of Russian designers, graduates of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design: Asya Akinshina - collection of author's dresses "Muses", inspired by the works of Alexander Pushkin, dedicated to the works of the great Russian poet and the actual reading of the Pushkin era costume; Yana Shusterman and Olga Malyarova - a unique dress "Tsarevna Swan", the image of which is the embodiment of the cultural code of Russian culture. 300 meters of tulle, French lace, pearls and jewelry were used to create the costume.


After summarizing the results of the contest, the Russian Ethnographic Museum hosted the youth educational "St. Petersburg Pushkin Ball". This bright festival of creativity, art and fashion became a landmark event dedicated to the 225th anniversary of Pushkin's birth.

The guests of the ball plunged into the atmosphere of the era of the sun of Russian poetry and the unique time of the great poet.

The program of the ball included the performance of the St. Petersburg Festival Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ivan Shinkarev, the historical orchestra "Peter the Great" and the dance group "Russian Style".

The guests of the evening enjoyed the sound of fragments of famous works, including arias from Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin, Gliere's Hymn to the Great City, excerpts from Glinka's ballet The Bronze Horseman, the Solemn Overture to the opera Ruslan and Lyudmila, Three Miracles from Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tale of Tsar Saltan and many others performed by the winner of international competitions, Yongkwan Kim (tenor, South Korea), a grantee of the "New Names" program, and Svyatoslav Grabovsky (bass, Norway), a singer, poet, writer, director, curator of international projects, winner of international competitions, who also performed fragments from works by Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Sviridov and others. The decoration of the evening was the performance of the enchanting soprano Margarita Ergart. The young artists dedicated their performances to the great Russian singer, who would have been 85 years old this year.

Ksenia Shupliakova (harp, scholarship holder of Maestro Temirkanov's Foundation for Cultural Initiatives) performed Tchaikovsky's "Fantasies on the Theme Eugene Onegin".

There was a presentation of the best collections of designers, winners of the contest, inspired by the works of Alexander Pushkin.

A special prize from the general partner Estel was awarded to Valentina Klushina, a student of Ƶ, who won the Grand Prix.

The guests of the "St. Petersburg Pushkin Ball" were also able to take part in master classes on ancient dances of the Pushkin era, thanks to the professional skills of choreographers-choreographers of historical dances and the master of ceremonies - the ball's steward.

The ball ended with the performance of the brilliant Oksana Fedorova, Russian TV presenter, singer, winner of the title "Miss Universe", she noted the high level of organization of the event and expressed her delight at the idea of reviving the tradition of holding the "Pushkin Ball" in St. Petersburg.

"St. Petersburg Pushkin Ball" not only recreated the spirit of the era, but also inspired young people to creativity and self-expression in art.

A special sightseeing tour of the Russian Ethnographic Museum was held for the youngest guests of the ball.

"St. Petersburg Pushkin Ball" is a non-profit educational project aimed at reviving historical traditions. Such a grandiose ball was held for the 100th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin.

Beautiful images of Pushkin's heroes - in the works and sketches of finalists and prize-winners of the project, will go on a grand tour, visiting many Russian cities, as well as abroad.

Pushkin is a great name that unites creative people, universities, cities, countries and continents.
