From April 15 to 20, 2024 in St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design was held VII International Congress "Design. Materials. Technology".

Events held within the framework of the congress:

• III round of the All-Russian Student Subject Olympiad in the discipline "Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials", the theme of the Olympiad: Fine Arts and Design in the development of cultural values representing traditions, rituals and customs in the organization of the family in the implementation of the national project of the Russian Federation "Demography";
• XVI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Science and education in the field of technical aesthetics, design and technology of artistic processing of materials", the theme of the conference: Design of artistic images of design objects in the development of cultural values representing traditions, rituals, customs in the organization of the family in the implementation of the national project of Russia "Demography";
• Scientific and methodological conference "Actual problems of design-education";
• Exhibition of works "Artistic 3D-visualization of design objects";
• Advanced training on the program "Development of author's design objects in digital environment".

The event was attended by students from 21 universities of Russia, including: FGAOU VO "North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov". M.K. Ammosov Federal University, Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin", Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Irkutsk National Research Technical University", Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Altai State Institute of Culture", Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "North Caucasus Mining and Metallurgical Institute", Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Kazan National Research Technological University" and others.

The bright guest of the Congress was Dmitry Kuznetsov (Mozi J), a graduate of the Department of Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials and Jewelry of the Institute of Applied Art. Dmitry, being the founder of Mozi Jewelry brand, shared his experience and spoke about modern directions of realization of creative potential in the jewelry industry.

The format of the event was mixed. Online broadcasting was carried out on the platform "Boiling Point - PromTechDesign". 58 students took part in the Olympiad. 42 papers were presented at the conference in the face-to-face format. More than 60 scientific papers were accepted for publication in the conference collection.
