Ksenia presented her work on the creation of a model of fluorinated polyester PEF-216 to predict its environmental safety.
"In my work I paid attention to the problem of environmental safety of fluorinated polymers in their practical application. Perfluorinated polymers are rarely recycled due to the peculiarities of their properties. As a rule, they are classified as low hazard classes and due to their chemical inertness they can accumulate in the environment, causing negative impact. Therefore, it is important to develop universal methods for purification and recycling of stable polymers, especially new, first synthesized substances.
To evaluate the possible interaction of organofluorine molecules among themselves and with natural objects and structures, a model of a single molecule was created. The obtained data can be used to develop methods of wastewater treatment from the polymer under study.
As a result of the poster session it was possible to discuss a wide range of scientific and practical issues in the field of fluoropolymer materials with the participants of the conference.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the supervisors of the work, Associate Professor, candidate of chemical sciences Peganova Natalia Vladimirovna and Associate Professor, candidate of chemical sciences Ibragimova Rimma Ilgizovna, as well as the Head of the Department of Engineering Chemistry and Industrial Ecology, candidate of technical sciences, Associate Professor Busygin Nikolay Yurievich for the support on the way to scientific knowledge", - said Ksenia.
