01 March

Within the framework of the discipline "General Composition", under the guidance of Natalia Dromova, Associate professor of the Department of Technology and Artistic Design of Knitwear at Ƶ, examination papers were completed, the inspiration for which was the heraldic tapestries of Western Europe and the St. Petersburg tapestry manufactory.

The students were asked to develop sketches for the heraldic tapestries of their small homeland, as well as a sketch of the family heraldic tapestry. Its creation is a complex and important process that requires a creative approach and in—depth analysis of traditional heraldic symbols. It is also important not only in the design of heraldry, but also in art in general. Its unique concept and aesthetics attract the attention of collectors, researchers and fans of this genre.

The best examples of tapestries allow you to delve into the history and traditions associated with the culture of heraldry and reveal many dynastic stories and symbols that are represented in coats of arms and elements of the composition. A thread of time runs through the heraldic trellis, connecting the past and the present, reflecting the diversity of cultures and peoples. All this makes the heraldic trellis an important component of heritage and art.
