Graduates of Ƶ presented their works in the field of design at an exhibition in China

In the Meeting Room of the Academic Council of the University of Industrial Technology and Design, a solemn meeting of participants of the International Exhibition of the best graduate qualification works in the field of design, organized by the Department of International Projects and Educational Programs of Ƶ together with the Heilongjiang Institute of Technology of China, took place. The exhibition was held in Harbin, it was attended by graduates of Ƶ 2023, who presented 43 works in the field of monumental art, fashion design, spatial environment design, visual communication and animation.


The purpose of the exhibition is to strengthen friendly partnerships between the Russian and Chinese universities and popularize the history and culture of the partner countries. The exhibited works demonstrate the similarities and differences of traditions existing in educational training in the field of design at Chinese and Russian universities.

Margarita Yemelyanova, a graduate of the Institute of Design and Arts of Ƶ, took part in an exhibition with a picturesque and decorative interior design of the Kazakovskaya metro station in St. Petersburg. Krasnoselsky maneuvers in the reign of Nicholas I, made in the technique of ultraviolet printing on glass, were chosen as the theme for the design of the station lobby.



Elizaveta Shcherbo, a graduate of the Institute of Graphic Design of Ƶ, presented a design project for promotional products for a promenade performance at the main headquarters of the Hermitage State Museum. And another graduate of the institute, Olga Lancetova, is a multi—page interactive publication with augmented reality about the St. Petersburg Workshop Theater. Graduates of the Institute of Costume Design of Ƶ presented their images and collections. Sofia Dorofeichik showed at the exhibition a female image of fertility based on Udmurt mythology. Taisiya Varlamova is a collection of youth sportswear, and Oksana Anokhina is a collection of clothes inspired by the ocean and its inhabitants.


Antonina Saprykina, a graduate of the Institute of Spatial Environment Design, became a participant in the exhibition with a project of a recreation center surrounded by a coniferous forest on the shore of Lake Ladoga. Alisa Elizarova presented the concept of the Mamai mountain and recreational complex in the Republic of Buryatia, a ski resort in the coastal zone of Lake Baikal. Sofia Shamanova took part in the exhibition with the project of the student campus in Pushkin, who was guided in her work by the principles of the Soviet architect Boris Ustinov and the Russian abstract artist Vasily Kandinsky.

The exhibition also featured short animated films by graduates of Ƶ based on the Yakut folk tale, the Altai fairy tale, based on the fairy tale of the indigenous people of Siberia — the Evens, aimed at popularizing the epic of the small peoples of Russia.

"We have only recently established a partnership with the Heilongjiang Institute of Technology, and this exhibition has become one of our first joint projects. Officially, it is called the first international exhibition of the best final qualifying works in the field of design, which means we will continue this experience. On the part of the University of Industrial Technology and Design, we will also plan an international exhibition with the participation of our partners in the same or another format. Now we are discussing with them another area of interaction in terms of the exchange of teachers and students," comments Lyudmila Karpova, Head of the Department of International Projects and Educational Programs at Ƶ.
