Ƶ students presented the best solution for Mosenergo at the Winter School of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering in Moscow
04 March

The five-day marathon of the MPEI Winter School of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering has come to an end in Moscow. St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design was represented here by students of the Graduate School of Technology and Power Engineering of Ƶ Veronika Vakhrushina, Evgeny Martemyanychev, Andrey Antufiev, Alexander Shevtsov, Alexander Fedorov. The head of the university delegation was Kirill Kryukov, assistant of the Department of Physics of Ƶ. Teachers of the winter school gave the students an opportunity to combine theory with practice, to show skills and abilities in solving real cases of companies and to conclude an agreement on targeted training with a partner enterprise.

For the first time participants defended cases in the format of debates. It was necessary to solve an engineering case from PJSC Mosenergo on the topic of new quality of heat supply. Students analyzed the heat load schedules of CHPP-11, developed a set of measures aimed at reducing losses with qualitative and quantitative regulation of coolant temperatures and presented technical and economic justification of the proposed measures. The team of Ƶ successfully coped and took the first place among the teams of 10 largest universities of Russia in the section "thermal power engineering".

Also young thermal power engineers from Ƶ visited the Atom pavilion at the International Exhibition and Forum "Russia", as well as CHPP-11 and OKB "Gidropress". This year there was a unique geography of participants: 10 Russian universities were represented by students from many regions, including St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, and Yakutsk.
