Combine knowledge and portray science: a student of St. Petersburg State University of Physics and Technology became the winner of the "Russia Looking to the Future" contest

The regional stage of the VII open competition of student projects "Russia, Looking to the Future" in St. Petersburg has been completed. The contest was held in several nominations "Best Literary Work (Essay)", "Best Video Work" and "Best Visual Work (Photo, Poster)". The winner in the latter was Anastasia Kozhemyakina, a student of the Clothing Engineering School (College) of Ƶ.


She presented to the jury a series of informational posters dedicated to the development of Russian science. History, biology, mathematics, psychology and cosmonautics were chosen for visualization. These areas of science were presented in the form of a semiotic system, with abstract elements acting as the main dominant element of the poster compositions. In addition, the poster contains information about the achievements of Russian scientists in historical retrospect. The stylistics of the project demonstrates modern tendencies in the sphere of graphic design. Thus, volumetric 3D-figures are used, which in combination with thin line graphics make the work multi-layered. The combination of bright neon gradients with a black background adds the necessary contrast to attract the attention of the target audience. The use of a large and distinctive font pairing of Neue Machina and Microsoft Sans Serif makes the posters legible from far and near.


"The developed posters are designed to popularize Russian science among young people of St. Petersburg, they reflect the history of our country, which shapes not only our present, but also our future," says the author.
