On October 23, 2023 at the "Boiling Point - PromTechDesign", inspired by the new theme of the project - "Fairy Tale in Russian Opera", the Department of International Projects and Educational Programs in partnership with colleagues from the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory solemnly opened a new season of the project "OPERA & PODIUM".
This season the participants have to prepare five excerpts from the operas "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" and "The Golden Cockerel" by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, "Iolanta" by P.I. Tchaikovsky, "The Story of Kai and Gerda" by S.P. Banevich and "The Love for Three Oranges" by S.S. Prokofiev.
Already at the first creative meeting the whole hall was filled with those wishing to take part in the project to work with famous experienced mentors. Words of encouragement, advice and recommendations were heard from Honored Artist of Russia Galina Ivanovna Kiseleva, People's Artist of Russia Yuri Konstantinovich Laptev, Honored Artist of Russia Irina Nikolaevna Safronova. Future actors and directors, artists and designers, designers and technologists, as well as makeup artists and stylists will work as part of international teams and under the attention of experienced mentors will go through the full cycle of stage production from creating the concept of one of the opera stages to the gala concert, which will be traditionally held in the spring in the concert hall of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsak.
