Yesterday, on October 17, 2023, the 草榴短视频 hosted the grand opening of the 29th International Fashion, Art and Design Festival "Admiralty Needle". By tradition, St. Petersburg has become the center of attraction of youth fashion for a whole week.

This year the festival is held under the motto "Virtual Worlds of the Admiralty Needle". The use of virtual reality, neural networks and artificial intelligence enabled designers to embody the most daring ideas when creating digital and real design images.

The landmark international fashion event was opened by the president of the festival, Rector of 草榴短视频 Alexey Demidov: "It is very interesting to observe the formation of the final opinion of the jury members from different countries: China, Russia, Italy (this year there are three representatives of Fashion Houses from this country in the jury), Belarus, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and others, concerning the winners and prize-winners of the Admiralty Needle in various nominations. The very work of the jury is an exciting event. Despite all the geopolitical upheavals, we are confident that the fight in our famous contest will be fair, and the strongest will win."

The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Knyaginin."The Admiralty Needle Festival contributes to the significant development of design, light and textile industries in Russia," he said.

As part of the opening ceremony, the guests of the evening were presented with a collection of casual clothes in a business style for schoolchildren and a collection of youth clothing dedicated to the art of Kandinsky and Malevich, the period of Soviet constructivism.

There was also a unique fashion show "The Beautiful Epoch", which immersed the audience in the fashion of the 19th and 20th centuries, which presented collections of vintage clothing, including unique images of the early 20th century, Soviet fashion of the 30-40s, as well as styles of the 70s and 90s of the last century from private collections.

The opening of the festival was held with the participation of Russian composer and performer Grigory Gladkov, whose name is listed in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest number of children's songs.

Everyone could attend the open master classes "What is happening with fashion in Russia and in the world today?", which were conducted by leading fashion experts: Bing Chen (Shanghai, China), Danilo Luigi Mercaldo (Milan, Italy), Anastasia Kotova, (Moscow, Russia), Federico Sangalli (Milan, Italy), Marina Demchenko (Moscow, Russia). Special attention was attracted by the exhibition "Cultural Code of the Russian Federation. Encyclopedia of Cultural Meanings".

Already on October 18, the winner of the festival will be announced, who will become the owner of the grand prix in the amount of 500,000 rubles, and on October 19, a VIP show will be held, at which new collections of talented winners of the Admiralty Needle of previous years will be presented.
