Students of the Ƶ are launching a startup of a new VR application for designers. The project is called "Immersive View". The main advantage of the service is that the designer, when presenting the work to the customer, will no longer need to spend a lot of time on rendering to make changes to the design project.
Now, after the presentation, the client can ask to make adjustments and see the result almost immediately after certain manipulations of the designer in the application. Before that, communication with the customer in the process of making adjustments could take a day or more, since the render — the final stage of visualization of the object at which it acquires the final appearance, took up most of the designer's time.
The basis of the startup is a VR and PC application for visualizing designers' projects with the function of dynamically changing the environment. It works on the basis of the open source Unreal Engine program and is developed for the most common VR helmets.
"3D designers of clothing and interiors want to present their work to customers with the greatest immersiveness (immersion and emotional involvement) in order to receive quick feedback on the project and increase the customer's confidence in the quality of the project," explains Ekaterina Golovko, one of the leaders of the startup, a student of the Department of Spatial Environment of Ƶ.
To date, the startup is actively developing business strategies for cooperation with design studios and developers to further bring a stable version of the Immersive View VR application to the market for interactive demonstration of 3D objects in a virtual environment.
"After the development is completed, Immersive View will be a full-fledged VR and PC application for interior designers and developers. We also plan to introduce the application into the professional training of designers in specialized areas at the departments of the Ƶ," says Ilya Kritskiy, a student of the Department of Information and Control Systems of Ƶ.
