Natalia Alexandrova, a student of the Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies of 草榴短视频, has developed a design project for a book - collection of Slavic fairy tales and legends 芦Krasnaya Gorka禄. Scientific supervisor 鈥� Head of the Graphics Department of 草榴短视频, Associate Professor Galina Lavrenko. The project became Natalia's thesis.

The collection consists of 13 shortened, little-known folk tales and legends and is designed for a wide audience of readers. In the modern world, the problem of preserving and transforming folklore traditions is one of the most pressing topics. Interest in folk culture, the peasantry, customs and traditions of antiquity is growing again. Urban youth walk the streets in stylish clothes and accessories, fashion designers and musicians, make-up artists and designers, festival organizers and directors, as well as other representatives of creative professions find inspiration in folklore traditions, folk culture, introduce such motifs into fashion, embellishing and modernizing them.

All illustrations in this project are based on the principle of asymmetric compositions, in which there is practically no environment, nothing distracts attention from the main characters. Landscape plots, as well as perspective in the illustrations, are either almost absent, or it is conditional, the pictures have no great depth in space, but the figures and characters themselves are depicted three-dimensional. The organization of the light is not accentuated, the light is diffused, but allows you to show the volume.

The images are conveyed with very tactful humor and refer the reader to the charming Russian countryside, provincial towns, stories about mythological creatures, to the anthropomorphic idea of animals, to the daily life of peasants and folk holidays.

The illustrations use printed fabrics of the 17th and 19th centuries, reflecting the folk flavor; the characters are dressed in folk clothes; the technique of execution 鈥� drawings with a liner resembles engravings 鈥� all elements of the illustrations emphasize the focus on folklore. The combination of fabric photos with classic drawing was done using Adobe Photoshop.
