Ƶ student creates new periodical interior magazine
08 August

Alexandra Kozlova, a student of the Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies of Ƶ, has developed a design project of the periodical magazine "Corner". Her supervisor is Anastasia Evmenova, associate professor of the Graphics Department of Ƶ. The project became Alexandra's graduation thesis.

The magazine is devoted to eco-friendly interior design, technologies that improve its convenience and relevance, as well as current trends. The publication is to some extent specialized and is created primarily for designers, but it will become a source of useful information for the general public as well.

The informational function of printed magazines is largely a thing of the past, as all the latest news can be instantly found out on the Internet. Therefore, the print magazine has moved from a means of informing to a source of inspiration for the reader. Magazine editions are becoming a whole work of printed matter, reflecting the individual vision and values of the authors. The main thing is not to fit as much information and images as possible into the spreads, but to refresh and inspire the reader with spectacular design and atmospheric photos, to inspire with professionally written text.

The periodical mainly focused on eco-friendliness and technology in interior design. Ecology, closeness to nature is the main value that the magazine brings to its readers, as the future of mankind depends on ecology, and it is no longer possible to ignore this aspect in interior design and ordinary life. Technology always brings something new, so one of the key qualities of the publication is the visual sense of novelty, of moving forward. This is also reflected in the stylistic form of the magazine, for example, more attention is paid to experimental typography, the main characteristic of which is a challenge to the established rules.

The chosen style of the publication does not require extensive use of illustrations, so the work with photographs is of special importance and has been placed in a separate section. Many photos in the magazine are overlaid with a noise effect.
