On May 15 the graduation ceremony of the students' media school "Sarafan" of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design took place. The gala part was held in the House of Scientists named after M. Gorky, in the White Hall of the Palace, made in the style of Louis XV. The festive evening was opened by Aglaya Konova, the Media School alumna, who performed compositions on the piano.

In a written address to the graduates Roman Volkovsky, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations of St. Petersburg, congratulated on graduation: "Media-school "Sarafan" is a unique opportunity to learn how to use the latest tools and technologies to create and distribute news, ideas and opinions. It's good that you took advantage of it. I am sure that it will come in handy for someone when getting a profession, and someone will help improve their professional qualities in their future work".

The graduation was the final event of the fifth session of the Media School, aimed at training media volunteers and staff for youth media. For three months, 155 students from 28 universities in St. Petersburg attended courses on photography, video production, text editing, podcasting and social media design.

The students created socially relevant content as their final works, working both in teams and individually. For example, Anita Rakshina made a documentary called "Upcycling Fashion". "In my work I raise the problem of fast fashion and not environmentally friendly consumption of clothing. My heroine was Polina Davydova, a student of SPbGUPTD, a clothing designer who creates items of clothing in the technique of upcycling, that is, with the use of creative recycling. In the documentary I told about Pauline's path, her ecological attitude to life and clothing collections", - said Anita.

Anastasia Kryuchkova developed the concept for the science-pop podcast "In Practice?" and is preparing the first episode for release. The goal of her project is to increase the level of trust in scientific developments and to show examples of ITMO's breakthrough opportunities. In the podcast she tells what happens within the walls of the laboratories and what applied sense research has.

Ainur Kuanysheva and Angelina Raikova co-designed the social media design for the Brodsky Museum apartment. Anastasia Khozyasheva and Kristina Katysheva for the podcast "Write, Sort" about environmental journalism. And Alina Gribanova and Ekaterina Sadovina produced a longread about meta-universes. Art historian Veronika Ushenina created a longread with recommendations for visiting museums as part of "Text editing". Alina Zhalkovskaya wrote an article about the development of emotional intelligence together with the Center for Psychological Assistance and Development of Ƶ.

A distinctive feature of the fifth shift of Media School "Sarafan" of Ƶ was the practical work based on social projects and nonprofit organizations. For example, photo and video reports were made about the activities of the Adaptation Center for people with disabilities "Master OK". Thus, the project Sarafan helps to highlight the activities of socially-oriented organizations.

The sixth shift of the Media School is preparing to launch in the fall of 2023. It will be held in a renewed format and will include online courses in addition to face-to-face classes. This means that free training in Sarafan will be available to young media people from all over the country.
