Today the Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia Valery Falkov announced the results of the work of the competition commission for the shortlisting of Russian universities for the basic part of the grant of the state support program “Priority 2030”.
In total, 106 universities from 49 cities of the country were selected to participate in the program. Saint-Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design was included in the list of participants of the “Priority 2030” and became the owner of the basic part of the grant in the amount of 100 million rubles.
“The most thorough decisions were made for each university. We did not evaluate current achievements or rehearsal and scientific achievements. We evaluated the program, its realism, the rector and the team and, of course, correlated it with the national development goals of our country and the regional agenda. The list of 106 universities is not the choice of the Ministry, the decision was made by a balanced commission,” commented on the results of the selection Valery Falkov, Head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
Universities were given the opportunity to declare themselves for the basic and special part of the grant in two tracks: “Research Leadership” and “Territorial and sectoral leadership”. The University of Industrial Technologies and Design applied for both parts of state support - both basic and special, taking into account the scale of the tasks set by the development program.
The delegation of Ƶ headed by Rector Alexey Demidov presented a strategy for reforming light and pulp and paper industries and a strategic project for the formation of a new industry - digital industrial design in order to create products that can compete on world markets. It is also expected to shift the focus towards engineering and the integration of advanced technologies in the transformation of industries.
The next stage is the defense of the program for receiving a special part of the grant of the “Priority 2030” program.
A total of 36 universities were recommended for further consideration by the Council as part of the special part of the grant on the track "Territorial and Industry Leadership", whose meetings will be held on October 2-3.
To implement the strategic projects of the program, the University acted as the ideologist and the parent organization of the consortium “Digital industrial design, composite materials, smart clothing and fabrics”. Association includes both leading universities and research institutes such as SPbSU, LETI, as well as industrial partners such as “BTK Group”, resident “Skolkovo”, “Texel” company and “Zenit” football club.
