Welcoming note

Demidov Alexey Vyacheslavovich

University Rector

Dear colleagues,

Our university today is a multidisciplinary educational complex, which comprises 2 higher schools, 19 institutes and 2 vocational schools. The University currently offers 225 programmes of secondary vocational, higher and postgraduate education in 21 major specialities. 23,200 students are majoring in design, liberal arts, engineering, economics and education.

The increased interest of today's youth in higher education is currently largely determined by the recognition of it as a reliable way to take a respectable place in society and to learn to adapt to the socio-economic conditions of a rapidly changing world. Today, everyone is already aware of the advantages that a knowledgeable use of modern technologies gives to a person in their life and daily work. The number one priority for young people is getting a relevant education.

A multilevel educational system, a variety of educational programmes, majors and minors provide a wide range of University specialist training.

To help students choose a major, we have established and effectively operate a system of pre-university training for applicants, including university vocational schools, specialised schools and courses.

The University complex consists of 11 educational buildings, most of which are located in the historical centre of the city, 6 dormitory buildings and 6 countryside facilities. Modern equipment of the university departments, academic and research laboratories, lecture halls, trial plant workshops and industrial workshops of the research and production centre allows the implementation of both vocational and higher professional education programmes. The University actively pursues international scientific and educational programmes. Along with this, we pay serious attention to the creative and sporting realisation of students: we annually hold the International Competition of Young Designers “Admiralty Needle” and the National Competition of Fashion Designers “Breath of Spring”, we have created sports sections and built gyms, and as a part of the Student Philharmonic programme we hold classical music concerts.

The life of our university students is full of exciting events, creativity, scientific research and active and interesting entertainment. All this is reflected in the University periodicals: the newspaper “techSTYLE”, the magazine “STYLE – Student”.

Dear colleagues, friends and guests, we are always happy to welcome you at our university!
