Graduates of this programme work in monumental painting for the interiors and exteriors of religious buildings, particularly Orthodox churches. Their professional activities also include the restoration of wall paintings in religious, historical, and cultural heritage sites, as well as teaching and cultural and educational work.
Students gain fundamental practical skills in painting and drawing, along with experience in developing design projects for Orthodox churches using a range of monumental and decorative art techniques. These include oil and tempera painting, mosaic, sgraffito, stained glass, artistic textiles, enamel, and other techniques. The programme also provides theoretical knowledge in art history, iconography, the history of Orthodox monumental art, and theological disciplines.
