The field of activity of a specialist who has finished the educational program 鈥淎pplied informatics in economics鈥� is the development of software and information systems for automating business processes of public and private enterprises and institutions, management bodies, commercial structures, international commercial and public organizations, cultural institutions, information and analytical centers, consulting firms, analysis and automatization of departments of banks, financial and insurance companies, management of developments at all stages of the software product life cycle, participation in the creation, maintenance, and modernization of software products.

Training of specialists in the development of software and information systems is an important aspect of active informatization and automatization of society. Graduates take an active part in the development and maintenance of information systems of the state structure of the Komi Republic, multifunctional centers of Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad region, divisions of Russian Railways, in the areas of housing and communal services.
