Ƶ has entered the ranking of universities in BRICS countries. In total, 750 universities from 20 countries—Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, and other states—took part in the study. The ranking was prepared by the Association of Rating Makers (ASR).
The methodology of the BRICS ranking repeats the methodology of the global ranking "Three University Missions". The activities of universities are evaluated in three dimensions: education (45% of the ranking), science (25%), and connection with society (30%). Among the main criteria are: student participation in international olympiads, the share of international students, joint scientific publications with BRICS partners, global and national citations, information openness, website popularity, and the number of followers on social networks.
In 2024, the first pilot version of the study was published. At that time, universities from ten countries participated in it. In 2025, the study significantly expanded its geographical coverage—this is due to the active growth of BRICS. New participants include Indonesia, as well as nine countries that received the status of BRICS partner states before June 1, 2025: Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan.
