Ƶ students are the winners of the competition on the use of AI in printing at the SmartPrint Fest festival in Kazakhstan

Students of the Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies Ƶ took part in the SmartPrint Fest festival of Printing Excellence and Innovation in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which brought together more than 180 participants from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Spain and other countries.

The author's calendar of Ƶ students won first place in the competition of projects dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence in the printing industry.




At the SmartPrint Fest, Ƶ students Kirill Sotnikov, Elizaveta Cherepanova and Roman Kokhanenko presented their daily calendar for moms for 2026. Each calendar card contains a positive motivating phrase, as well as a stylish surreal illustration. The images were created using several artificial intelligence services, from the initial generative stage to image quality enhancement.




In addition, Kirill, Elizabeth and Roman presented their research "Synthesis of artificial intelligence and polygraphy" at the competition "Polygraphy: yesterday, today, tomorrow", which was held as part of the SmartPrint Fest, and took second place.

Another key event of the festival was the ProfSkills: Printing and Packaging competition according to WorldSkills standards. Kirill Sotnikov and Roman Kokhanenko, students of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, took part in the competence of Print Media Technology. The competition consisted of five stages.




Young polygraph technicians worked on making calendars, packaging bags, and origami packages, creating cardboard boxes with a magnetic snap, as well as thick covers.

Yuri Pigichka, Deputy Director of the Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies for Admission and Pre-university Training, acted as a competence expert.
