The best St. Petersburg students of 2025 were awarded at the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Traditionally, the Student of the Year Award in the St. Petersburg Higher Education System is held under the auspices of the Committee on Science and Higher Education and the Council of Rectors of Universities in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region in twelve nominations.
A total of 212 applications for participation from 42 educational institutions of higher education in the Northern Capital were accepted. The best students will be awarded personalized scholarships from the Government of St. Petersburg. Among the honored guests of the event are Vladimir Knyaginin, Vice—Governor of St. Petersburg, Andrey Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education, Alexey Demidov, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, and rectors of St. Petersburg universities.
Vladimir Knyaginin, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg:
"My friends, you have been working for a whole year, you have tried, you have been active, you have strived to do something more than just prescribed by the duties of an ordinary student. Every time we must mark those people who strive to do more than what is simply required of them in their service, work, or the activity they are engaged in, say "thank you" for your work, express how much we appreciate your work, and partially relate our expectations to yours. You will be the ones who grow, build our city, and make it better. Thank you for your work!"
Alexey Demidov, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design:
"For many years now, the University of Industrial Technologies and Design has hosted the Student of the Year Award. Every time we look at the nominees, we see those who have truly proved themselves in one category or another. I am truly grateful to the Government of St. Petersburg, the Governor of the city, and the Committee on Science and Higher Education for hosting such a competition in St. Petersburg. As the rector, I remember all the names of the winners and prize-winners that have been presented by our university over the past 10 years, and I am sure that many of the rectors present here also remember their winners. Some of the laureates and winners of the Award are already working at universities, having proved themselves in science, in international activities or in student government. Andrey Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee of Science and Higher Education in St. Petersburg:
"I would like to address our dear students. Look at the galaxy of rectors present at the award ceremony today, so appreciate it, they believe in you! I will also mention that the winners of the award receive 7,000 rubles per month as an additional scholarship, and the laureates receive 4,500 rubles each."

Mokhinur Komolova, a student of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, winner and prize-winner of international, All-Russian and regional competitions, wins in the nomination "Best in Artistic Creativity". Her models have been shown at the Tretyakov Gallery, the Hermitage, and at Fashion Week in China.
In the nomination "The Best in scientific and technical creativity", the award is given to a student of St. Petersburg State University, a scholarship holder of the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg, a scholarship holder named after academician B. B. Piotrovsky, academician A. A. Fursenko Ruslan Mazaev.
Anna Shcherban, a student of the St. Petersburg State University of Railways of Emperor Alexander I, candidate for Master of Sports in rowing, multiple winner and prize-winner of regional and All-Russian competitions, was recognized as the best in student sports.
Roman Matrosov, a student of St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University named after V. I. Ulyanov (Lenin), head of the information group of the LETI student patriotic club GANGUT, winner of the All-Russian competition "No One is forgotten and Nothing is forgotten", was recognized as the best in patriotic work.
Polina Zvoda, a student of the ITMO National Research University, organizer of international events "Culture of different Countries", "Cultural Code of Russia", member of the International Friendship Club of St. Petersburg, wins in the nomination "The best in the organization of interethnic and international cooperation (tolerance)".
Matvey Khapugin, a student of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, head of the All-Russian Consolidated student service group "Deauville", and commander of the University student staff, becomes the best in organizing the activities of student labor groups.
Ksenia Shukurova, a student of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A. I. Herzen, a certified volunteer organizer, head of the university's Volunteer Center and the working group on volunteerism development, became the best in organizing the activities of the volunteer movement.
Alyona Popova, a student of St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, the main organizer and coordinator of the sports project "2100 hours to summer", co-organizer of the festival of students and university staff "There will be no Cold", becomes the best propagandist and organizer in the field of a healthy lifestyle.
Timur Kislyakovsky, a student of the I.I. Mechnikov Northwestern State Medical University, chairman of the Cultural and Patriotic Education Sector of the University's Student Council, wins in the nomination "The best organizer of creative and leisure programs."
The best organizer of student self-government is Ramses Juldiev, a student of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, a university winner, a regional winner and a participant in the All-Russian Student Leader competition, the creator of a platform for strengthening student interaction.
Tatiana Grigorieva, a student of the St. Petersburg Mining University of Empress Catherine II, chairman of the Student Council of Dormitories of the university, wins in the nomination "The best organizer of student self-government in a dormitory." Tatiana pays great attention to legal guidance and further development of dormitories.
Pavel Petrov, a student of the D.F. Ustinov Baltic State Technical University "VOENMEH", Deputy Chairman of the Student Council, Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of students' rights, organizer of schools of elders, curators, and student leaders, was recognized as the best organizer of work with student groups.
At the end of the evening, the Anthem of the Great City was played in honor of the guests and participants of the ceremony.
