Student of Ƶ — winner of the PREMIO.DESIGN international competition "PRO family"
17 November

Alexandra Savelieva, a student of the Department of Spatial Environment Design at Ƶ, became the winner of the PREMIO international competition. DESIGN "PRO family".

Alexandra presented a concept called "Heart of the Jungle", a design project for a residential cell of a townhouse for a family of four: parents with teenage children.

The building for which the Ƶ student developed the design concept consists of four floors, including an underground floor designed for a parking space for two cars and technical rooms (dressing room, laundry room and pantry).

On the ground floor there are common rooms: a dressing room at the entrance, a guest bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and an office, which, if necessary, can serve as a guest bedroom. The second floor is completely reserved for children: there are two children's rooms, a bathroom and a dressing room. The third floor is intended for the owners of the house: they have a master bedroom combined with a dressing room, a large bathroom including a shower room, an infrared sauna and a separate bathroom. In addition, part of the space is given over to an operational roof. The total area of the cell is 261 m2.

The family for which the residential unit is intended consists of four people — parents and teenage children of different sexes. In this regard, it was necessary to provide not only a sleeping place for each child, but also a space for rest and work. And for the parents — a spacious bedroom with the possibility of accommodating an extensive wardrobe and a miniature SPA complex adjacent to it. The family does not often receive guests, so it was decided to prefer an office to a full-fledged guest bedroom, which combines several functions at once.

It was crucial to provide a separate space for different generations, which is why each floor has its own individual functional purpose.

The main highlight of the project is the interior gardens, which combine the functions of a decorative element and a light corridor that allows daylight to enter the house. In addition, modern technologies such as self-darkening windows and a smart home system are appearing in the building.

The project manager was Andrey Zuev, Associate Professor of the Department of Interior Design and Equipment at SPbGUPTD.
