Valeria Katz and Ruslan Lapchenko, students of the Department of Journalism and Media Technologies at St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, qualified for the finals of the N.I. Lobachevsky All-Russian Research Competition and presented the results of their research in Kazan.

Valeria Katz has been researching the topic of inclusivity in the media since her first year of university studies. As part of the conference, she presented her future graduation project, the educational Telegram channel Most for people with mental disabilities. The experts of the competition appreciated the importance of her research. Ruslan Lapchenko's report was devoted to the analysis of publications in federal magazines about Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin and the identification of new trends in working with the heroes of glossy publications.
The student analyzed a unique case in the history of Russian gloss: the simultaneous appearance of one character on the covers of three major magazines ("Reading", "Editorial Opinion" and “Psychologies”) during one short period: autumn 2025. The experts noted the depth of immersion in the topic, its uniqueness and the opportunity for further research.
