A team of students from the digital department of Ƶ became the winner of the All-Russian competition "Cultural Code in modern Design", organized by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs "Ivolga" and the brand "Culture at Home".
The participants of the contest reinterpreted the cultural heritage of Russia through modern visual forms. Students of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design presented a corporate identity for the Skarbnitsa brand, a brand of products reflecting the culinary traditions of the regions of Russia.
Young designers of Ƶ Ulyana Frolova, Yuri Zaitsev and Alyona Tokareva created packaging for tea from the Krasnodar Territory with birds, berries and leaves, a label for a jar of pickles from the Nizhny Novgorod region with cucumbers, packaging for chicken eggs from the Leningrad region with a Russian ornament and an image of a chicken with chickens, a package of wheat flour from the Krasnodar Territory with wheat ears.
"This brand produces products with authentic flavors familiar from childhood, using local ingredients and traditional recipes. The brand's goal is to combine culture, taste and technology to preserve the country's authentic culinary heritage. The brandbook helps to talk about products in a unified corporate style, demonstrating through packaging and communication the richness and diversity of Russia's regional culture. The brandbook is based on minimalistic bright illustrations: a chicken with chickens on eggs, cucumbers on pickles, spikelets on flour and birds with berries on tea. All the elements are designed in the same color palette, creating a holistic brand image," the authors of the project share.
The work was highly appreciated by the competition jury for its deep disclosure of the topic of authenticity and a modern look at national images in design.
