Teachers from the College of Technology, Modeling and Management of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design participated in an expert assessment of art materials produced by the Pereslavl Paint Factory and the Voskresenskaya Pencil Factory.
The assessment was conducted in a "blind testing" format, which allowed us to objectively determine the quality of products without the influence of brand or expectations.
Such events are becoming an important part of the cooperation between educational institutions and manufacturing enterprises. The motivation of students for creative activity, as well as the level and expressiveness of the final works of future artists and designers directly depends on the quality of art materials.
During the trip, the teachers visited the production workshops where oil, gouache and watercolor paints are made. Special attention was paid to quality control processes and selection of pigments. The experts noted the high standard of products and a well-thought-out system of technological stages that ensure the stability of color and texture of materials.
At the Voskresenskaya Pencil Factory, teachers got acquainted with the full production cycle: from sawing and drying wood to applying a lead, coloring, labeling and packaging of finished products. This openness of enterprises to professional dialogue allows them to better understand the requirements of educational organizations and improve products taking into account the needs of artists, designers and teachers.
Based on the results achieved, the college plans to develop cooperation with manufacturers of art materials, expanding student participation in testing, workshops and joint research projects.
