A single test operator tested the sorbent of Ƶ scientists to increase environmental sustainability in coastal and southern zones
31 July

A single test operator tested an ecological sorbent developed by scientists from the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The technology is aimed at developing sustainable environmental approaches in the field of industrial and coastal infrastructure. The tests proved the sorbent's high efficiency and stable operation.

The tests were conducted on the basis of test centers to confirm the operability of the solution in conditions close to real operation. According to the results of the testing, an eco-friendly sorbent based on recycled cellulose, created by Ƶ specialists, demonstrated high efficiency. It is used to eliminate hydrocarbons from the surfaces of water and soil, has a high absorbency, is environmentally friendly, is easily transported and disposed of. Tests have confirmed that the sorbent works stably when modeling conditions on various types of objects, from coastal zones and high—humidity water areas to hard-to-reach ground landscapes.

The development of Ƶ will be used to improve the environmental reliability of the infrastructure for the extraction, transportation and storage of hydrocarbons in a wide range of natural conditions.
