08 July

Young scientists of Ƶ and the team of the University Student Scientific Society presented the university at the All—Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists and Student Scientific Societies "From the depths of tradition to the heights of Technology" in Ufa. In total, more than 1,300 participants from 7 countries — Belarus, China, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan - gathered in the capital of Bashkortostan.

The delegation of Ƶ included undergraduates of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after prof. A.A. Kharkharov Polina Gvadzabiya and Kristina Samsonova, as well as a student of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations Ksenia Svanidze.

At the University, Polina Gvadzabia is engaged in the development of microcapsulated thermoregulating compositions with phase transition materials, as well as their use in the creation of "smart" thermoregulating materials. Different phase transition materials or combinations of them can be used depending on the tasks set, so the possibilities of their application are very extensive. For example, they are used to create sports thermal underwear, workwear for polar explorers, firefighters and oil workers.

Kristina Samsonova develops "smart" materials based on various aramid fibers at the university, improves the functional properties of aramid textile materials, including giving new properties that ensure the comfort of the resulting products. Aramid fibers are an integral part of the textile industry; they are also used in the production of protective clothing for firefighters, oil workers, metallurgists, and for fire-resistant interior decoration of public buildings.

Ksenia Svanidze at Ƶ is engaged in the popularization of science and the development of the university Student scientific society.

Within the framework of the congress, young scientists took part in a business game from SIBUR, one of the largest petrochemical companies in Russia. A team of Ƶ students worked on the technology of manufacturing octabines, containers for transporting small products, from low-pressure polyethylene, a methodology for studying physical and mechanical characteristics, as well as an analysis of the profitability of the project. The technology was highly appreciated by SIBUR representatives and took the first place.

In addition, students of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design attended lectures on grant and project activities, took part in a discussion of the trajectory of the development of young scientists in research teams and the integration of youth into scientific processes, got acquainted with the unique scientific infrastructure of Bashkortostan, visited the leading laboratories of the Eurasian Scientific Research Center, tried their hand at creating 3D models of ancient artifacts.
