Sofia is the winner of the interactive session of the Russian Energy Week 2024 and the winner of the "Yes, Progress" problem solving competition. As part of a team from the Higher School of Technology and Energy of Ƶ, Sofia participated in the International Engineering CASE-IN Championship for solving engineering cases. In 2024, the university's team became the winners of the competition, and in 2025, the winner of the student league.

"It was one of the highlights of university life. Three months of well—coordinated work by our team, mentor and university teachers led us to victory in the final of the competition, which brought unforgettable emotions," says Sofia.

For two years in a row, Sofia participated in the Ƶ acceleration program: in 2023 with the TOPICELL project and in 2024 with the STEKLOFF project. With the STEKLOFF project, aimed at recycling glass waste from municipal solid waste into thermal insulation materials, Sofia became a finalist in the All-Russian Startup as a Diploma competition. STEKLOFF also entered the ranking of the 1000 best startups in Russia, with this project Sofia became the winner of the "I'm in Business" program in St. Petersburg. Intellectual property registration is currently underway under the project.

The student was a resident of the fourth stream of the Academy of Innovators acceleration program for the development of youth entrepreneurship and the creation of start-ups in Moscow.

At the University, Sofia is engaged in scientific research at the intersection of economics, energy, environmental protection and rational use of resources. The graduate presents the results of her work at international and national conferences, including in a foreign language. At a conference dedicated to the memory of the Honored Scientist V. S. Sofia Sominsky has been speaking for two years in a row — with a report on the analysis of the economic efficiency of using biofuels, as well as on the analysis of the volume of glass waste generation in MSW and the directions of their management in St. Petersburg. In addition, the girl took part in the project "Dialogue of Cultures" with a presentation on "Poster art".

Sofia plans to enroll in a master's degree at the university, where she will study energy management and continue to engage in project activities. In the future, the graduate would like to teach at her home university.
