30 June

Varvara Mosina, a student at the Institute of Textiles and Fashion at St. Petersburg State University of Applied Sciences, created table linen from natural linen fabrics and jacquard with landscapes of her hometown of Plesa. At the university, the girl studies the artistic design of textiles, and table linen with landscapes of Pless became her graduation work, which was based on the study of the traditions of Russian art.

Varvara Mosina presented three sets of table linens for kitchen interior decoration. One of them includes a tablecloth with a Russian carving print, which was inspired by the window frames of Pless houses. Yelets lace was used to create the second set, and the linocut technique and the French textile style Toile de Jouy, which translates as "Jouy fabric", were used for the third. Initially, this fabric was produced at a factory in the village of Jouy-en-Josa near Versailles.

"This style is characterized by monochrome ornaments made on a light background. Pastoral scenes, landscapes, or historical subjects can serve as drawings. But my job is not exactly Toile de Jouy, it's a pleasure. That is, Thule de Ples."

Drawings with landscapes of Ples were applied to jacquard, a fabric on which a pattern is created by a complex interweaving of threads. The jacquard set, which consists of a tablecloth, a dining path, towels and napkins, was specially woven for Varvara at the Vologda Textile Mill in two colors: blue and gray. There are also digitally printed copies made on flax in Ivanovo.

The set, created by a student of Ƶ, will perfectly decorate the kitchens of Pless houses and will become an excellent souvenir that guests of the Golden Ring city of Russia will be able to take with them from their trip.
