Ƶ wins the CASE-IN International Engineering Championship

The final of the 13th season of the , co-organised by the presidential platform ‘’, took place in Moscow. A team of students from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, consisting of Andrey Antufiev, Anna Kholopova, Igor Plyushchenkov and Sofya Tyukhteeva, became the overall winners of the championship in thermal power engineering.



Andrey Antufiev, Igor Plyushchenkov and Anna Kholopova are first-year master's students at the Higher School of Technology and Energy at Ƶ, specialising in thermal power engineering and heating technology. Sofia Tyukhteeva is completing her bachelor's degree in economics. The victory of the Ƶ team was the result of three years of hard work. It is noteworthy that last year the students already demonstrated a high level of preparation, taking second place in the championship.

‘But in 2025, Ƶ came first, beating representatives from NIU MEI and KuzGTU from Kemerovo, who took silver and bronze respectively.’ Twelve of the strongest teams from Russia's leading technical universities competed for the title of best in this season's final. A total of 6,624 students competed for a place in the CASE-IN final.


The team from the University of Industrial Technologies and Design was able to achieve impressive results under the guidance of an experienced mentor, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Thermal Power Engineering at Ƶ Ekaterina Gromova. Her role in the team's success cannot be overestimated. According to the students, she is able to turn every work process into an exciting journey to new knowledge, and thanks to her guidance, the students have gained not only professional skills but also confidence in their own abilities.

At the end of the final, the winners of the CASE-IN International Engineering Championship received diplomas, a cup and valuable prizes. The awards were presented to the winners by representatives of the presidential platform ‘Russia – Land of Opportunity,’ the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, and various companies. Our champions received paid internships at companies with the possibility of subsequent employment.

Today, the championship is supported by 170 major partners, ranging from federal agencies, including the Russian Ministry of Energy, the Russian Ministry of Construction, the Russian Ministry of Labour, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Russian Ministry of Education, and Rosmolodezh, to companies in the fuel and energy and mineral resources sectors, oil and gas, petrochemical and nuclear industries, metallurgy, architectural and construction design, and other sectors.


The project is part of the ‘Science to Win’ initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia plan. The championship is held as part of the federal project ‘Russia — a country of opportunities’ of the national project ‘Youth and Children.’
