Mikhail Dengin, a graduate student at the Institute of Business Communications of Ƶ, an employee of the Financial planning Department of the university, attended the Belsky Bridgehead search expedition camp in the Tver Region to express gratitude to the volunteers. Last year, the search engines of the Spetsvyaz detachment found the remains of Mikhail's great–grandfather, Fyodor Kobylsky.
Fyodor Kobylskikh was drafted into the 250th Infantry division of the NKVD. In the summer of 1941, Fyodor Savelyevich, among 15,000 fighters, held off the onslaught of the enemy's vastly superior forces on the outskirts of Moscow for 75 days. About 500 Red Army soldiers were able to evacuate by train, the rest heroically fell in the battles on the Black Creek – Krasnogorodka – Losmino line. The great-grandfather of the SPbGUPTD graduate student was listed as missing, his personal files were classified, and his family found out the truth only 83 years later.
In the Belsky Bridgehead camp, the great-grandson of the hero took part in the Candle of Memory event, and also visited the burial place of his great-grandfather.
In November, Mikhail also attended the closing ceremony of the Memorial Vigil in Borodino, where he was presented with a medallion, personal belongings and a medal of Fyodor Savelyevich. In response, Mikhail addressed the volunteers:
"I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the search engines who are here today, and to those who could not come. I would like to say a special thank you to the head of the expedition, during which my great-grandfather's medallion was discovered. You are making a huge contribution to the preservation of historical memory."
In the summer of 2025, a student of Ƶ plans to join the expedition and take part in the search for missing fighters.
