Opening of the exhibition "Posters of Hope: students for a safe childhood"
23 March

The spring of 2025 in St. Petersburg was marked by a bright creative event that united the efforts of young designers, government agencies and the public for the sake of an important goal – to protect the rights and safety of children. The exhibition "Posters of Hope: Students for a Safe Childhood" opened at the main portico of Gostiny Dvor on Nevsky Prospekt, organized with the support of the official Petersburg Diary publication, the St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office and the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office, which has been actively supporting the creative initiatives of our university for many years. This collaboration demonstrates how art, youth, and society can come together to address important social challenges.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by key figures of the city: the Prosecutor of St. Petersburg, Viktor Dmitrievich Melnik, the rector of the Ƶ, Alexei Vyacheslavovich Demidov, and Kirill I. Smirnov, General Director of the Petrocenter Information and Publishing center of the government of St. Petersburg, editor-in-chief of the Petersburg Diary. Speaking to the townspeople and the press, they stressed the importance of the project as an important event capable of drawing attention to the prevention of violence against children.

Alexey Demidov, Rector of Ƶ, noted that this project has become the embodiment of a unique synergy of the educational process and social initiatives: "Our university has put its soul into this project. This is exactly what the city, the youth, and all of us need."

The exhibition presents a collection of more than 20 unique posters created by students of the Institute of Graphic Design. Each work is an artistic interpretation of acute social problems: bullying, digital security, family relations, drug addiction prevention.

In addition to the aesthetic value, the works attract the attention of viewers to the need to discuss and resolve these issues in society. Kirill Smirnov, General Director of Petrocenter, emphasized that the urban audience will be able to appreciate not only the skills of young authors, but also their mature vision of social challenges.

The Institute of Graphic Design is rightfully proud of its students, and this exhibition is another confirmation of the high level of training of future designers. Their works go beyond classical educational tasks and become part of the urban environment: after the exhibition, posters will decorate metro stations and other public spaces in St. Petersburg.

We invite everyone to get acquainted with the works that have become the embodiment of one of the most important goals of society – the protection of future generations. The exhibition "Posters of Hope: Students for a Safe Childhood" will be open until April 13, 2025.
