Thermally conductive composites and catalysts for discoloration: Ƶ scientists presented their developments in the Elbrus region
11 July

The delegation of the Ƶ returned from the XX International Scientific and Practical Conference "New polymer composite materials. Mikitaev readings". The event was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov. The conference implements the goals and objectives of the Decade of Science and Technology in the country.

For the second year, the University of Industrial Technology and Design has been the co-organizer of the conference and the responsible organizer of the Smart Materials section. Fibers and Textiles", dedicated to one of the strategic projects of the University of the strategic leadership program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation "Priority 2030".

The university traditionally presents at the conference the results of the work of its leading scientific schools in the field of obtaining new materials, modeling and forecasting their properties, as well as applications in industry. The research is presented by two plenary, seven profile, and one poster presentations.

Ekaterina Tsobkallo, Head of the Department of Materials Engineering and Metrology of Ƶ, Scientific director of the University Laboratory of Mechanics of Oriented Polymers, presented approaches to modeling the functional properties of electro- and thermally conductive polymer nanocomposites.

The presentation was complemented by reports by Professor of the Department of Mathematics Galina Meshcheryakova, senior lecturer of the Department Anton Krylov and laboratory assistant of the Department of Engineering Materials Science and Metrology Alina Kopotilova, dedicated to the construction of adequate physically correct models of electrically conductive polymer composite materials.

Raisa Vitkovskaya, Professor of the Department of Engineering Chemistry and Industrial Ecology of Ƶ, together with graduate student Stepan Shagrov presented the results of research on the morphological functions of a polyamine-based catalyst for discoloration of colored solutions.

Anna Sharapova and Maria Smirnova, students of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after prof. A.A. Kharkharov of Ƶ, presented scientific works in the field of obtaining nanoparticles for imparting special properties to polymer materials.

Rector of the University Alexey Demidov and Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering Materials Science and Metrology of Ƶ Olga Molokanova joined the organizing committee of the conference, and the head of the Department of Engineering Materials Science and Metrology of Ƶ, Professor Ekaterina Tsobkallo, joined the program committee of the conference. Valeria Vasilyeva and Alina Kopotilova, associate professor and laboratory assistant of the department, provided the work of the section. Selected papers of the conference will be published in the leading scientific publications of Russia, including in the scientific journal of the university "Izvestia of Higher Educational Institutions. Technology of light industry", included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission.
