The "School of Young Scientists 2024" was held at the University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The event is designed for undergraduates and graduate students and is held annually. Young scientists of the university received knowledge and skills necessary for scientific activity, writing a PhD thesis, applying for scientific grants and publishing articles. Speakers of the School were representatives of the scientific community, including Ƶ.

"This year, the School of Young Scientists of SPbGUPTD launched a whole cycle of career guidance activities at the university. Our trainees had the opportunity to learn how to build an academic and scientific career at the university, where to start when building their professional trajectory, how to communicate with potential employers and much more. The format of the School has already proved its effectiveness. It is a tool to attract scientific personnel, popularize research activities at the university and expand the community of young scientists and researchers", - Vice-Rector for the development of educational programs of ƵNatalia Klimova.
Listeners of the School learned how to prepare and submit applications for participation in scientific grants and competitions, received recommendations for successful presentations at scientific conferences, studied the subtleties of writing high-quality scientific articles and learned how to work with electronic databases. In addition, the knowledge of the main aspects of patent, invention, utility model or industrial design applications received by the students will allow young scientists to patent their scientific results more actively. Master's and PhD students of SPbUPTD presented the university Student Scientific Society, spoke about its assistance in research activities and integration into the Russian scientific community. Among the important topics raised during the round tables within the School were the mechanics of academic writing, system analysis and creative solution of inventive problems, research methodology and dissertation writing techniques. A separate block of the program was devoted to the integration of the results of research activities into the business space.
This year special attention was also paid to the issues of self-realization and scientific career. One of the round tables discussed the peculiarities of career development in science, opportunities and prospects of career development in university, production and business. The participants of the round table shared their own experience in building academic, research and teaching careers, answered numerous questions from the audience. The discussion was attended by young scientists and staff of Ƶ, undergraduate and graduate students of the university, as well as invited guests.
