Students of Ƶ underwent internship in Shanghai

As part of the international academic mobility program, students of the Graduate School of Printing and Media Technologies of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design underwent an internship at the Shanghai College of Publishing and Printing at the Shanghai University of Science and Technology. The participants were 20 students studying in the fields of publishing, advertising and public relations and information systems and technologies.

During a month students mastered disciplines related to photo and video production and post-processing, studied 3D modeling, virtual reality technologies, stop-motion animation. Classes were held both in computer labs and in laboratories with studio equipment. Under the guidance of Chinese teachers, the students were able to learn the whole process of content creation in practice, from choosing a background and setting up studio lights to processing the resulting photos in graphic editors.

In addition, the training program included classes aimed at getting acquainted with the intangible cultural heritage of China: Chinese language, calligraphy, creation of name seals, fabric painting. At the official closing ceremony all participants received certificates of successful completion of the educational course.

The program of the trip included a visit to bookstores and Artron publishing house, famous in China, where students studied advanced technologies used to create high-quality printed products, the work of the production store and finished editions, which will later go to bookstores, the work of editors, proofreaders and graphic designers.

The cultural and entertainment program was no less intense. It included not only sightseeing in Shanghai and visiting city museums, but also excursions to the ancient cities of Nanxiang, Zhujiajiao and Suzhou. At the students' request, the curators even organized a visit to the Shanghai Zoo.

The program and interaction with the partner university was organized by the International Relations Department of Ƶ, which also advised the students on the trip and collected the documents necessary to obtain study invitations.
