On April 25, 2024 students of group 3-CD-10 of the Department of Brand Communication, the team "PRosto-communication" Andrienko Anastasia, Baranova Alina, Germanova Marina, Rusavskaya Varvara, Khrypko Arina, supervised by Associate Professor of the Department of Brand Communication Smirnova Veronika Vladimirovna, participated in the Youth Interdisciplinary Championship "Youth Decides" 2024.

The Championship was attended by 34 teams of educational organizations of St. Petersburg, the organizer of the Championship is the Standing Committee on Youth Policy, Public Associations and Digitalization of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg. The Championship is held on the initiative of the Youth Parliament at the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.

The Championship creates opportunities for professional self-determination of youth, application of knowledge gained in the process of training, development of such competencies as teamwork, search, processing and analysis of information, skills of public speaking and effective presentation.

The PRosto-communication team participated in two rounds (only 10 teams were selected for the second round), which is a good result shown by the students. Future PR-specialists were able to demonstrate their knowledge not only in the field of law, but also to develop critical and creative thinking, creative abilities, analyzing various cases.

Alina Baranova noted that "participation in the case championship "Youth Decides" allowed to plunge into the jurisdiction from the point of view of PR. In addition, we tried ourselves in a completely new area of knowledge - solving legal issues. We got a huge range of emotions from the championship and plan to take part next year!".

Rusavskaya Varvara notes: "I really liked the format. It was interesting to perform tasks, to think hard, to prepare all together. The atmosphere in the Mariinsky Palace was amazing. For professional development, it was good to shift the focus from standard PR to its combination with the legal environment. Although the tasks were tough for those who are not studying law, they all proved to be interesting and inspiring."

Anastasia Andrienko shared her impression: "The Youth Decide case championship is a unique event. I especially liked the format of the competition - the format of tasks, the time given for their fulfillment and most importantly, the teamwork. Our team participated in two stages of this competition, during which we performed several tasks with stories from different spheres of life. This is an interesting experience for our professional development".

Arina Khrypko said that "Championship "Youth Decides" proved to us that we, as PR-specialists should abstract in any situation and work with any material. At the championship we tried to prove ourselves not only as students of the Brand Management profile, but also as students who are ready to learn new things and prove themselves. We were glad to take part!"
