Irina Peshkova, a student at the Institute of Graphic Design, became the winner of the project "Make it better" to create social advertising for St. Petersburg using neural networks
16 April

The project was launched on the occasion of the Day of Russian Students by the BEAC together with the government of St. Petersburg and partners — universities and specialized organizations in the field of advertising.

Students were asked to create unique concepts of social posters using artificial intelligence, in particular the free Kandinsky neural network, on topics such as ecology in the city, life without drugs, Peter the Great's birthday.

The Expert Council selected 15 concepts that are most suitable for the criteria and objectives of the project. Among them, according to the results of an open vote, was the work of a student of the Ƶ.

Irina Peshkova took the third place, suggesting that more attention should be paid to paper recycling in the work "Let waste paper be reborn".

"Neural networks are now one of the advanced technologies, the ability to work with which is a necessary skill. I am glad that I was given the opportunity to demonstrate myself and my knowledge in this competition. It was interesting to work with artificial intelligence. Before the competition, I had no experience of interacting with neural networks and it was thanks to participation that I was able to expand the scope of professional skills. My poster touches on one of the urgent environmental problems faced by residents — recycling of waste paper. Recycling of paper products reduces the consumption of wood and water, which reduces the burden on the environment," Irina shared.

The original images of the project leaders will be finalized and will form the basis of social advertising for the Northern Capital this year. The database of ideas will include the works of other participants selected by the jury for the future.
