St. Petersburg will once again become a center of attraction for young journalists and publishers in Russia and the CIS countries

On April 22, 2024, the XII International Youth Media Forum "MediaStart" will be held at the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. This year it is timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the St. Petersburg City Student Press Center (STUDPRESS).

Representatives of the Government of St. Petersburg, heads of the leading city media, journalists, experts in the field of advertising and PR will talk about technologies and trends in the media industry.

Specialists of the largest St. Petersburg media, including TASS North-West, St. Petersburg Diary, St. Petersburg TV channel, Channel One - St. Petersburg, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, St. Petersburg Vedomosti, Delovoy Peterburg, Kommersant, Zenit radio and many others will discuss the latest technologies in the media sphere, as well as share their experience in creating and promoting media content.

During the round tables and discussions, experts will discuss innovations and traditions in the work of the largest St. Petersburg media, as well as tell where to look for reliable facts and how to work with information sources, discuss topics of cybersecurity and media literacy among young people.

The section "Self-employed journalist or blogger?" will discuss the issues of training media specialists and the specifics of working in the modern information field, copyright, the emergence and influence of influencers - opinion leaders, as well as innovations in the use of artificial intelligence and neural networks in news creation.

Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, political scientists and international relations experts will share their opinions on the work of modern media.

Traditionally, the MediaStart forum is a platform where representatives of student media share their experiences. This year, youth media projects from Russia, as well as CIS countries: Kazakhstan, Pridnestrovie, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will be presented in the "SmallTolk" format.

Within the framework of the Forum, the results of the student and youth media competition "Media Generation", the photo contest "Gorod-812" and the video contest "I am proud of my small Homeland" will be summed up.

Our MediaStart forum attracts genuine interest from the best media specialists of St. Petersburg, talented media-active youth from all over Russia and other countries from year to year."
