The campus will have a special role for St. Petersburg as a center of innovative technologies. Training students in digital industrial design will contribute to the development of the city's economy, creating new jobs and attracting investment in high-tech industries. In addition, the development of digital technologies and the application of modern design methods in industry will increase the competitiveness of local enterprises in the global market, as well as improve the quality of life of citizens and create a favorable innovation environment.
The program "Campus 2.0: new horizons of educational space and regional development" was opened by Alexey Demidov, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. In his welcoming speech he noted that the creation of a network of modern university campuses is a task set by the President of Russia. And the very program of campus development is directly related to the work that universities should carry out within the framework of "Priority-2030", and colleges - within the framework of the project "Professionalism".
At the same time, construction projects, however innovative they may be, do not change educational organizations. They must be supported by a fundamentally new approach to the development of the educational process and student life. That is why the team of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design participates in the "Campus 2.0" program.
Alexey Demidov wished the participants good luck, interesting work and expressed hope that at the end of the program there will be several more campus projects on the city map, and it will be possible to say with confidence that St. Petersburg has again confirmed its status as a center of scientific progress and innovation.

On behalf of the partners, the participants were welcomed by Ekaterina Kholodnova, Deputy Director General of FPIMI, and Maxim Mulyukin, Head of the Moscow office of CSR North-West. According to Ekaterina Kholodnova, the result of the program lies in the synergy of education and regional development. Maxim Mulyukin, in turn, emphasized that campus policy is an element of national policy, and St. Petersburg today is in the vanguard.

In addition to representatives of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, teams from Herzen State Pedagogical University, St. Petersburg Technical College of Management and Commerce and the Corporate University of St. Petersburg, as well as Petrovsky College are participating in the program.
