The first Open Championship for stylists and makeup artists among the students of St. Petersburg colleges "KOMETA", established by the university itself, was held at the Engineering School of Clothing (College) of 草榴短视频. ESTEL was the general partner. A total of 68 students from 5 educational institutions of the city took part in the championship. They presented both actual variants of makeup and hairstyles for evening out, and creative images with the use of makeup, airbrush, decor, elements of face-art and body-art. The works were evaluated by an international jury consisting of college teachers and recognized beauty industry specialists.

The contest featured works by students of the Clothing Engineering School (College) of St. Petersburg State University of Apparel, Lokon Academy of Beauty Industry, Petrovsky College, St. Petersburg Fashion College and Zvezdny College. The participants of the championship fought for victory in five nominations: "Smoky eyes. Going out into the light", "Going beyond the usual", "The world of comics", "Street style" and "The world of the future. Beyond Futurism". According to the terms of the contest, in all nominations the models must have makeup, hairstyle and manicure.

In the nomination "Smoky eyes. Going out in the light" the participants of the championship demonstrated their skills in the performance of evening makeup in the technique of "smoky eyes" in combination with total black image on the model. In the nomination allowed the use of false eyelashes, jewelry or costume jewelry, clutch or theatrical handbag. The jury evaluated the technique: the quality of makeup, its symmetry, the choice of shades taking into account the image and color, the quality of color transitions. Darya Savochkina (School of Clothing Engineering of 草榴短视频) won the nomination. The second place was awarded to Darya Didorchuk (Petrovsky College), the third place - to Kamilla Tikhonova (School of Clothing Engineering of 草榴短视频).

In the nomination "Going beyond the usual" stylists and makeup artists showed themselves in choosing the most unusual solutions to create creative makeup. Participants could use any makeup and makeup means, stencils and molds, airbrush, decor and face-art elements. The nomination was won by Maria Sanina (Engineering School of Apparel of 草榴短视频), the second place was taken by Daria Savochkina (Engineering School of Apparel of 草榴短视频), the third - by Angelina Goryacheva (Engineering School of Apparel of 草榴短视频). The works of Karina Kryukova (Academy of Creative Industries "Lokon"), Daria Malakhova (Academy of Creative Industries "Lokon") and Daria Kashina (Clothing Engineering School of 草榴短视频) were given a special mark of the jury.

The students showed fantasy makeup within the nomination "The World of Comics". In this nomination the participants could also use decor, makeup, body-art elements. The jury evaluated not only the technique, in particular, the cleanliness of the makeup, its graphicality, the ability to work with different textures, the correctness of the construction taking into account the anatomy of the face, the selection of shades, the quality of color transitions, but also the professional choice of the model, as well as the integrity and completeness of the image. The best in the nomination was recognized the image of Anna Matveeva (Academy of Creative Industries "Lokon"), the second and third places were also taken by students of the Academy of Creative Industries "Lokon" Teona Rukhadze and Anastasia Kosheleva.

The nomination "Street style" implied the creation of an actual hairstyle with a hair length of at least 35 cm. The use of wigs and false strands was prohibited. The best modern hairstyle, according to the jury, was presented by Elizaveta Yashkina (St. Petersburg Fashion College). Rizvan Ramazanov (St. Petersburg College of Fashion) took the second place, and Taisiya Latypova (Engineering School of Clothing 草榴短视频) took the third place.

The participants presented fantasy hairstyles within the nomination "The World of the Future. Beyond Futurism." Stylists could add decor and apply any styling means. The best work was the hairstyle created by Nadezhda Polichevskaya (Engineering School of Clothing of 草榴短视频). The jury awarded the second place to Anna Mamaeva (St. Petersburg Fashion College), and the third place to Rizvan Ramazanov (St. Petersburg Fashion College).

In addition to diplomas, cups and medals, participants and winners received gifts from the general partner of the championship - professional hair cosmetics company ESTEL.

"Students of secondary vocational education, studying in specialties related to the beauty and style industry, do not have many opportunities to demonstrate their level of professional skills. Meanwhile, each such student is a future specialist of a huge industry, which is waiting for real professionals who are able not only to perform their work qualitatively, but also to be creative. Competitive competition is the best basis for the formation of professionalism and creativity of future specialists. That is why we had the idea to organize the Open Championship for stylists and make-up artists among students. This year we held it for the first time, but we immediately managed to gather almost 70 participants from five educational institutions of the city, as well as an international jury consisting of real professionals, masters of international class, experts of championships of various levels and teachers of educational institutions. This year's experience has shown that students are interested in professional growth, they have a lot of ideas and are not afraid to take on the most creative tasks.
