Russian Science Day at Ƶ
08 February

Today, like all scientific organizations and universities in the country, St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design celebrates the Day of Russian Science. Science is power, progress, movement, and development in all spheres of life: medicine, education, economics, and manufacturing.

Today, the Russian Academy of Sciences celebrates its 300th anniversary. And in general, the Day of Russian Science is directly connected with the name of Peter I. On February 08, 1724, by his order, a decree on the development of science in the Russian state was issued. This day was established in 1999 by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and is designed to emphasize the importance of science for the development of the country. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced 2022-2031. A decade of science and technology.

It is symbolic that on February 08, the 190th anniversary of the birth of Dmitry Mendeleev, an outstanding Russian scientist, a man with a difficult fate, who is known all over the world for his inventions, is celebrated. His main discovery is considered to be the periodic law and the periodic table, which everyone knows as the periodic table. Attempts to systematize the elements were made in France, England, and Germany. But they did not have the main thing – the periodic law.

In honor of the Day of Russian Science, a scientific quiz for students and teachers of the university was held at the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The participants of the intellectual competition, united in teams, fought for the title of an expert in science. Their task was to give the correct answer to a question from different fields of knowledge as soon as possible. Russian Russian scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, who was the first to use Russian letters and his own system of writing mathematical formulas in his native language, about the Amkar football club, named due to the merging of the beginning of the words AMMONIA, and young scientists fought with special zeal in speed, answering questions about the creator of rocket and space technology and practical cosmonautics of the USSR Sergei Korolev, Russian scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, who was the first to use Russian letters and his own system of writing mathematical formulas in his native language and carbamide, and also discussed why owls sleep horizontally, although adult owls sleep vertically. Of course, the correct answer did not take long to wait: owls sleep on their stomachs because their heads are too heavy. They do this until they are big enough to sleep upright.

The event was organized by the , whose representatives presented medals to the experts of science to the winning team: assistant of the Department of Digital and Additive Technologies Andrey Volkov, students of the Department of Design and Technology of Leather Products named after Prof. A.S. Schwartz Sofia Kamalyan, Department of Chemical Technologies named after Prof. A.A. Kharkharov Valeria Dedlovskaya, Department of Physical and Colloidal chemistry Margarita Romasheva, Department of Digital and Additive Technologies Stanislav Meshkov.

Also today, the Ƶ started accepting applications for participation in scientific debates on the topic: "Research work: exchange of experience", the event is timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Science and represents performances by young scientists, the exchange of knowledge gained during scientific research, industrial practices, and grants. The event allows not only to expand public speaking skills, but also helps to build communication among graduate students, undergraduates and undergraduates to create new research projects.

Congratulations to our scientists, professors, postgraduates, students, and representatives of the scientific community on their professional holiday – the Day of Russian Science! You are working on the modernization of industries, the introduction of innovative solutions in manufacturing, agriculture, import substitution and fully give us a chance to understand the world around us, putting forward new hypotheses and solving the problems of fundamental applied science. We wish you passionate zeal in your endeavors, energy and patience, success in painstaking research and new achievements!
