Dear teachers, coworkers and students!

In the outgoing year 2023, our university has achieved significant results that will play an important role in the coming years. We continue to work in the Priority 2030 program of state support for leading universities, where our main strategic projects are aimed at creating and implementing new technologies in the light and pulp and paper industries, developing industrial design, developing special clothing, shoes and prosthetics technologies for rescuers and the military.

Many events marked the year 2023 鈥� these are new educational programs, the assignment of a high category to six of our scientific journals, the work of our now eight dissertation councils. There was a serious graduation in terms of the number of students, successful admission to the first year, when we were the first in the country on August 4 to enroll students in all 100% of the budget places of the first year, and the number of students enrolled in our university of budgetary and extra-budgetary forms exceeded the figure of 6,300 first-year students.

We are continuing the implementation of the federal project "Professionalism" with a cluster of light industry on the basis of our College of Technology, Modeling and Management.

This year has already brought the traditional victories of our sports teams 鈥� boxers, men's and women's basketball teams, football players, etc. The important events of this year are the work of the first and second parts of our "Tochka kipenia", the museum of sports glory of our university and the space of modern design "Coordinate".

Colleagues, we have achieved and done a lot in the past year, during the years of the special military operation we are helping the front in Donbass, for the second year we accept freshmen from Donetsk Technological University into our dormitories and to study in university buildings.

By October of this year, there were over 23,000 students at our university, and for more than one year we have been among the top three largest universities in St. Petersburg.

Next year, we will not only strengthen ourselves on the achieved milestones, but also strive for new serious goals and objectives, and I believe we will cope with all the tasks!

Since the end of 2023, the centralization of university accounting departments has begun in the country, we are being given serious tasks to digitalize curricula and management, we are discussing the possible entry of new colleges into our composition, the participation of our university in a federal pilot project to improve the levels of higher education in Russia. The tasks are not easy, but our university has a serious potential to solve them.
