A team of students from the Higher School of Technology and Energy of Ƶ presented the university in the final of the Northern Eurasia ICPC – the largest and most prestigious sports programming team championship in the world. At the competitions, students of the University of Industrial Technology and Design became second degree graduates. In total, 324 teams from the best programmers of Russia and the countries of the Northern Eurasian region competed in the championship.
Ƶ students Denis Akilov, Sofia Romashchenko and Kirill Kipriyanov had to solve 12 tasks of varying complexity in five hours, which were based on real problems: optimizing subway schedules, modeling air traffic control, optimizing the placement of fences, tracking robot movements, compiling race tracks, modeling baggage collection at the airport, estimating oil and gas reserves, etc. others.
The guys solved 7 problems, which allowed them to take 27th place among 324 teams and receive a second degree diploma. The programmers from Ƶ lacked only one breakthrough to get to the world finals, because the teams that took third and fourth places advanced to the next stage, where they will represent Northern Eurasia, having solved 9 tasks out of 12.
