The International Exhibition and Business Forum "Occupational Safety and Health" ended in Moscow. The program of the event included the BIOTON interuniversity case championship, where engineers from the University of Industrial Technologies and Design presented a service for monitoring employee health at the enterprise and minimizing accidents. The solution was among the top five and received a special prize from the jury - representatives of companies in the field of energy, industrial safety and ecology. A total of 30 teams from 20 universities of the country took part in the competition.
Ƶ was represented at the championship by Oleg Galushko, Ksenia Spiridonova and Marina Krygina, students of the Department of Engineering Chemistry and Industrial Ecology, who worked on the service under the guidance of Sergey Panov, Associate Professor of the Department.
"There are different work areas with their own hazards, so it is necessary to monitor the vital signs of the employees and remind them of safety rules and compliance with the work regime. We decided that this task would be best handled by wearable devices. For example, fitness bracelets or smartwatches equipped with sensors. And to process and interpret the data from the sensors, we offered a special service," said Sergey Panov, Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering Chemistry and Industrial Ecology at Ƶ.
Among the data collected by wearable devices are: heart rate, its changes, and stress level. The solution of the Ƶ engineers involves processing this data in the application and then sending summarized information in the form of statistics and graphs to the work computer of the employer or occupational safety specialist. The employee himself can also track his indicators through the mobile version of the service.
In this way, the employer collects indicators from all employees by individual work areas, he can also send reminders or alerts that will be displayed to the employee on his smart device. And thanks to artificial intelligence technology, the service analyzes summary information on each employee and forms recommendations for optimizing work and ensuring safety at the entire enterprise.
