The All-Russian SCIENCE 0+ Festival was held in Ƶ
30 October

The All-Russian Science Festival SCIENCE 0+ was held within the walls of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. During scientific shows, quests, master classes, excursions and interactive lectures from Ƶ scientists, schoolchildren learned how our world works through physical and chemical experiments, drew sound, controlled robots, printed on 3D printers, looked at single-celled organisms, conducted water and air quality studies, created their own jewelry and drawings were applied to fabrics in different techniques. This year, more than 300 students of St. Petersburg schools visited the university sites where the scientific festival was held.

The students were able to feel like students at an interactive lecture on the nature of physical phenomena by the head of the Department of Physics, Professor Konstantin Ivanov. And during the quest, schoolchildren created a unique drawing with their own hands using the physical phenomenon of "interference".

A scientific show with a demonstration of spectacular chemical experiments was held in the laboratory of polymer fibrous and composite materials for special purposes. During the excursion to the laboratory of the Department of Nanostructured, Fibrous and Composite Materials named after A. I. Meos, the festival participants got acquainted with the equipment and the fascinating world of the science of composites. In the laboratory of mechanics of oriented polymers, the guys conducted studies of the deformation properties of various materials. And in the laboratory of virtual fashion and digital design, they studied the processes of 3D scanning and 3D printing, immersed themselves in the world of virtual reality using VR glasses.

In the workshops of the Department of Monumental Art there was an excursion and a master class on artistic enamel from the teacher of Ƶ, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia Yana Alexandrova. At other master classes, guests of the scientific festival created jewelry together with teachers of the Department of Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials and Jewelry, learned how to apply a sublimated pattern on fabric and dye it in the "tai-dai" technique, working hand in hand with specialists of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after prof. A. A. Kharkharov. The guys were able to create an author's stylistic image in the collage technique at the master class of the Department of Technology and artistic design of knitwear.

The Higher School of Technology and Energy of Ƶ also hosted excursions to research laboratories, lectures on various types of energy, games on alternative energy and master classes. At the master class on 3D mechanics, schoolchildren were engaged in assembling a 3D constructor and puzzles, at the master class on water purification, the children learned to determine the quality of water and conducted a study on its purification. At the master class on environmental monitoring, the festival guests worked with samples of bottom sediments, learned how to use a microscope and determine air quality by lichens. And at the robotics interactive, we learned about the device of robots and were able to control them independently.
