Ƶ at Digital Innopolis Days 2023
24 October

The forum on digital independence in business and education has ended in Innopolis. Separately, in the speech of Anastasia Kazantseva, Deputy Director of the Department of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the practice of the Ƶ to create a unique metaverse for the fashion industry was noted as a reference. Recall that the metaverse, developed by the St. Petersburg University together with VK, the BEINOPEN Institute for the Development of the Fashion Industry and Tomorrow's Render Team, was included in the list of the most successful cases according to Innopolis University and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. The forum's discussions touched upon the topics of mutual development of education in the BRICS countries, issues of mutual recognition of diplomas within these countries, the possible use of IT in the modern education system, the development of the startup movement among students, and the opportunity for students to interact with top managers of education and business.

Vice-Rector for the Development of educational Programs of Ƶ Natalia Klimova:

— The issues of digital transformation in education are extremely relevant now. From the labor market, business, there is a request not only for IT specialists, but also for specialists with strong professional competencies combined with digital ones. We discussed the image of a graduate engineer in information systems, the transformation of higher education, and the problems of building end—to-end digital competencies at a meeting of the federal educational and Methodological association in the field of higher education in the areas of Computer Science and Computer Engineering. We have received another confirmation that we are moving in the right direction in the development of IT education at the university. The applied approaches allow us to effectively implement a unified IT module for more successful formation of digital competencies among students. The forum also brought us new contacts with partners in the implementation of projects related to digital, we were able to design several programs and pre-discuss the prospect of creating an educational consortium with universities of creative directions.

Panel sessions dedicated to the implementation of the project Digital Departments of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia "Priority 2030" were held at the forum venues. By the way, in 2022, more than 1400 students were enrolled in the Digital Department at the Ƶ, 1264 successfully mastered the training program. This year, the following DPO programs are being implemented at the Digital Department of Ƶ: algorithmization and programming in Python, web design, visualization of brand representation. The labor intensity for all training programs is 252 hours, the implementation period is 9 months. In 2023, 2122 students are studying at the Digital Department at Ƶ.

Anton Soshnikov, Head of the Digital Department of Ƶ, took part in the discussion on the verification of programs by industry IT practices:

— The value of the programs of the Digital Department of our multidisciplinary university lies in the fact that students solve their industry tasks in each of the areas of training with an eye to practice. This challenge was solved due to the long-term, effective building of relations between the university and enterprises. The base of teachers for the study of case assignments is represented by one of the main partners of Ƶ: JSC "BTK Group", JSC "Ilim Group", LLC "Galaxy of Information Technologies", Branding Studio "Brandy. studio", JSC "Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant", CJSC "Novbytchim", PJSC "TGC-1", LLC "Planetarium No. 1", LLC "Element", Digital Marketing Agency "DM Digital".

A rich program for the best students of Digital departments was also presented at the forum. The Ƶ was represented here by Timur Korol, a student of the Institute of Textiles and Fashion of Ƶ.

The demonstration of the cyberpolygon, the pitch show of startup solutions and the development of the video game industry seemed to Timur the most useful for further work and training:

— There were several goals of the trip: establishing contacts with representatives of IT and IT education, getting acquainted with the innovative city of Innopolis, with the Tatar flavor, identifying problems and ways to possibly improve the quality of education. I participated in brainstorms with the resulting new strong connections and fresh thoughts. We worked closely with students, I arrived there without knowing anyone at all, and I left with twenty new contacts. The dialogue with the students of the BRICS countries was interesting from the point of view of how they see the problems of education from the perspective of a completely different culture. It was also important for me to have a dialogue with a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, where we, students, as direct participants in the process of obtaining this very education, expressed our opinion on the issue of effective teaching methods.
