How BIG DATA analysis is changing science, education and industry: «Open data» forum results.
The University consortium of Big Data researchers held the annual «Open data» forum on September 23-24 in Saint-Petersburg. For the university community, big data is an effective tool for educational processes monitoring and educational quality management, new opportunities for building educational strategies and creating breakthrough projects in partnership with technology business and the government.
In the four thematic tracks of forum, participants – government officials, more than 200 representatives from 53 universities – rectors and IT-teams of Russian universities, experts and scientists, and more than 20 leading IT and EdTech companies in the country (Skillbox, Netology and others) – discussed terms required to open big data and the expansion of opportunities to implement digital technology models in universities; problems of hybrid education and selection of data processing platforms; opportunities offered by EdTech and IT-companies to the education system of digital services and technological decisions to collect and process big data and develop digital education strategies.
